Nashville Wraps teamed up with Operation Shower to host a baby shower at Fenway Park this summer. It was sponsored by the Red Sox Foundation and Red Sox All-Star and MVP second baseman Dustin Pedroia and his wife Kelli. They are the founders of Pedroia’s Platoon, a program that provides Red Sox tickets to the military and their families and includes meeting Dustin during batting practice before enjoying a game at Fenway Park. .
Operation Shower is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and honoring military families by providing joyful baby showers for military moms-to-be, to ease the stress of their spouse’s deployment or injury.
“We are thrilled to join with Operation Shower to express our sincere gratitude to these courageous military moms-to-be for their service on behalf of our country,” said Kelli Pedroia. “Whether they are active duty themselves or the person keeping everything running smoothly at home so their loved one can proudly serve overseas, we know the enormous sacrifices that are made and feel privileged for the opportunity to show them some love and support through this special shower.”
Showers in a Box
The shower held at Fenway Park was themed “Shine Bright Like A Diamond” and included lunch, raffle prizes and the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature “Showers In A Box” gifts. Strollers and car seats were wrapped in Nashville Wraps’ Sweet Safari gift wrap with coordinating tissue paper and gift tags.
LeAnn Morrissey, founder and chief shower officer of Operation Shower, said, “For military women who are expecting a baby and whose spouses are deployed or soon to be deployed, the impending arrival of a child can be both exciting and stressful. Without their spouses by their side, deployed to another part of the world, these moms deserve our support, our thanks, our love and an opportunity to celebrate together.”
