Recession Proof

To a degree retailing gift and home goods is a recession proof industry. When the economy gets tough many consumers look to comfort at home to help ride out the storm. When interest rates increase, people with savings who depend on interest income have more cash. When interest rates decrease, it encourages the housing market so people look to decorative accessories and house-warming gifts.

Organic Gifts

No matter what the economic conditions are, people still love to indulge themselves and give gifts of products they believe in. In todays environmentally conscious climate, gifts that are “green” (made from recycled or sustainable materials) are especially appreciated. Foods that are organic are also becoming more in demand and more readily available. No one wants to spend any more time in the doctor’s office more than they have to, so if we can eat closer to what nature provides for us, we believe that has to be better. If nothing else it tastes better. When I go grocery shopping I notice more and more organic produce available today. I also see these products becoming more affordable. I am a label reader of the worst kind…if I see a list of chemicals it goes back on the shelf. Last time out I bought organic cold cuts. The ingredients said “turkey”,  period – nothing else.

Made in America

I see there is a resurgence of consumers (I am one of them) who are reading the labels looking for “Made in America”. Clothing, tools, foods, gifts, you name it! In our packaging line when we have to import products we usually offer an American-made alternative (see Plastic Bags for an example) . We can do a better job of maintaining our inventories with domestic products and in these days we know what materials and manfacturing controls go into our domestic products. Knowing where the paper comes from, what percentage of it is recycled and so forth is becoming critical information for everyone, especially your customer.

Green Way TM products are Made in the USA.

Green Way TM is a trademark of Nashville Wraps for natural, recycled, degradable or environmentally sustainable packaging products.  All of our Green Way TM products are made in the USA. All of the Encore TM recycled plastic used in the Green Way TM line  is not only made in the US , but is also collected in the US. So this helps keeps good reusable materials out of our own landfills.
