Ghyslain – Chocolat des Beaux Arts
Ghyslain Chocolatier in Union City, IN (half-way between Indianapolis and Columbus) specializes in handcrafted gourmet chocolates. Born in Quebec, Canada, Ghyslain Maurais mastered the fine art of chocolate making and is a certified French pastry chef, candy maker and chocolate decorator. His chocolates (featured above) are exquisite.
For Easter, Chef Ghyslain has hand-painted eggs, bunnies, pansies and butterflies for his collection. These works of art are both beautiful and delicious. Ghyslain also has bistro locations in Richmond, IN and Louisville, KY.
Recherche Du Plaisir
After traveling to France on an anniversary trip, Lucy Gustafson was inspired to open her own shop in Santa Rosa, CA called Recherche Du Plaisir. She spent two years testing recipes, site planning and constructing her building. The French translation for her Parisian-style sweet shop means “The Search or Quest for Pleasure” and her store includes a 3-foot Eiffel Tower along with French paintings and travel photos.
Lucy sells treat-filled Folding Presentation Boxes online here in assorted colors. Many of her truffle creations have won awards at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair including Bordeaux Walnut, Pomegranate Zinger, Kahlua and Cream and ACDC featuring ancho chiles, sea salt and spices in dark chocolate. In addition, Lucy makes her own caramels, gourmet chocolate bars, Linzer cookies, French macarons, meringues and madeleines.
Lambrecht Gourmet Toffees Fit for a Queen
Located in Heber Springs, AR, Lambrecht Gourmet Toffees has won the Gold Medal Award for Top Toffee in America at the Salon International Chocolate Competition. Their handmade artisinal toffee combines all-natural ingredients for a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth treat.
Husband and wife team, David and Nancy, chose the Belgian spelling of Nancy’s maiden name for their business. What started out as making toffee to give away for special occasions, became a career selling through David’s job as manager of the Red Apple Inn Resort and then to local gift shops in Arkansas. David attended the Chocolate Academy at Barry Callabaut in Montreal, Canada to learn his chocolate-making techniques. After taking their toffee to gift markets in Dallas, Atlanta, New York and Chicago, they now ship to gift shops in over 40 states.
A gift shop in Virginia who sells their toffee had a customer who was Queen Elizabeth of England’s personal assistant. He was invited to Balmoral Castle for the weekend and needed a gift to present to the Queen. Lambrecht’s Fleur de Sel Pecan Toffee was passed around the dining table for the Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and Camilla. Prince Phillip liked the toffee so much he requested another box, which David gladly sent overnight!
The Olive Wagon

Owner Whitney Brown likes to use the large size mixed with excelsior wood shred for gift sets.
