Beth O'Reilly - Mayesh FlowersBeing an internationally known floral artist takes a high degree of skill, drive and attention to detail. Floral artist Beth O’Reilly AIFD, TMF has spent the last 20 years managing a retail wedding and event flower shop in downtown Austin, Texas. Her exquisite floral designs have touched many people’s lives as gifts and during important celebrations.

Traveling as far away as China to learn her craft, Beth works with a major manufacturing company there on product development. She truly has a passion for the advancement of great design worldwide, and keeps up with the latest trends in the floral industry.

2015 Floral Industry Trends

Beth commented, “The floral industry is seeing a surge in new products that are driven by color, texture and dimension, from vessels to fresh products. Many 2015 floral trends are all about large focal flowers, textured greens, mixed metallics and geometric patterns and prints. This year many brides will carry the newly revamped over-sized bridal bouquets. This look carries over to other arrangements from centerpieces and altar arrangements with an unstructured, gathered and earthy feel. Tones of muted berry, champagne and the Pantone “Color of the Year” Marsala will be popular color pairings.”

“In addition, ombré designs that blend graduated tones of color from light to dark create interesting designs and displays. Solid flower statements are seen in flower walls and backdrops. Also, suspended and hanging arrangements that hover above head tables with an elevated importance are popular.”

Beth O'Reilly - Mayesh Flowers

As a Certified Texas Master florist, Beth is an accredited member of The American Institute of Floral Designers, one of the most prestigious design organizations in the world. She has also served on boards for Teleflora and AIFD and presented numerous workshops and seminars across the US and Canada. Her work extends beyond floral design and includes working with logistics, procurement, staffing, lighting, complete event direction and even fireworks displays for large events! Contemporary Floral Design Ideas

We were honored when Beth teamed up with Nashville Wraps and Mayesh Wholesale Florist to design some gorgeous floral bouquets for Valentine’s Day. Mayesh is one of the oldest family-owned wholesale suppliers of high-quality cut flowers from growers in the Pacific Rim, Central and South America, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Mayesh operates 16 branches in 8 states.

Watch Beth’s innovative video below featuring a new spin on a classic Valentine’s Day floral design, including how to create gorgeous wrapped bouquets using Stone Wrap® Gift Wrap and floral ribbon from Nashville Wraps. This treeless wrapping paper is made in the USA from 75% limestone and 25% polyethylene so it’s waterproof and ideal for floral arrangements. Our Waxed floral tissue, non-woven fiber tissue and satin acetate ribbon are also popular with florists.
