How to Create an Ombré Tulle Look

Ombre Tulle Packaging

The “ombré” look – a soft fade from a light color to a darker color – is so easy to create using our soft, US-made Tulle Ribbon in 3 or 4 shades, with just a stapler to attach the colors together (I used a mini stapler to make the connections easier to hide).

This look seems to work best on plain packaging, such as these sweet white gift and favor boxes (above) or plain kraft boxes, but you may feel inspired to try other color combinations. I love adding an earthy texture like twine or paper raffia, but ribbon would be pretty, too.

An ombré tulle wrap looks beautiful around handmade soap or other gifts.

With so many colors of tulle to choose from, wedding planners and brides can make ombré chair wraps to coordinate with a wedding theme (we used about 7 yards per color on this chair). Just tie on handmade “Mr.” and “Mrs.” or “Just Married” signs to complete the DIY look.
