That’s a Wrap: Gift Basket Finishes

Kathy's Gift Basket

The finishing wrap on a gift basket seems to generate many questions from our new basket designers. In this post, I’ll show you how to create a couple pretty and practical finishes.

Wrap It for Shipping

I’ll start with a very practical wrap. It is attractive and will help hold the gift items in place. It is an especially good choice if you are shipping the basket. I’ll make my own custom shrink bag to do it. The instructional video will show you exactly how to do this. You can also find this information and much more on our How To Shrink Wrap CD. Order it or receive it free with the purchase of our large shrink system.

Wrap It Over-Sized

Tulle is a beautiful wrap for a feminine, wedding or anniversary basket. I’ll use the 24″ Wide Roll Tulle. This video will show you how to wrap an over-sized basket with tulle and a little trick to put together two sections of tulle neatly for a professional presentation.

I’d use shrink wrap unless the fruit is fresh. Fresh fruit needs a little ventilation or it will ripen too fast. I like these little trays too. they have tight fitting lids and you can seal them with our shrink bands. http://www.nashvillewraps.com/candy-boxes/plastic-food-containers/c-048831.html Top them off with a pretty ribbon or your own custom label.

How about wrapping a gift tray with food in it- chocolate covered nuts and dried fruit. How do you cover the tray for professional looking gift trays?

Thank you very much this would be very helpful.
