First, I started with a piece of Hot Pink Non-Woven Tissue, folded in half. This tissue is actually water resistant, so the color won’t bleed next to flowers! To create a square for wrapping the round flower pot, I folded the tissue diagonally until the edges matched up at the bottom, then cut off the extra (photo #1 below). Then I opened the tissue back up and cut along the original fold, leaving me with two squares. Since I wanted this plant to be easy for the recipient to water (without leaking), I chose some printed cello, and using one of the tissue squares as a pattern, cut a piece of cello at the same size.
Then, I laid the two squares of tissue on the table, turning one so the points made a star (photo #2 below), and added the printed cello to the top piece, keeping the design on the cello facing up. However, if you wanted the printed cello design on the outside, since this Non-Woven Tissue is waterproof, so you could lay the cello down first with the printed design face down and the tissue on top of that.
Next, I gathered up the sides around the pot (photo #3), using a rubber band to hold it all in place. I pushed the rubber band up, almost to the top of the pot, so the wrap would stand up high enough to hide the edges of the pot a bit.
And finally, I tied a bow around the pot. I just love our new Cabana Stripes ribbon!
When I used printed tissue paper like our Lavender Plaid and Sapphire Links (both shown above), I laid the first piece of tissue printed side down, and the second piece printed side up, so both the inside and the outside of the wrap showed off the design. The clear cello went on top so it would be next to the flower pot.
