Perfect Picture of Patriotism – The Freeport Flag Ladies

Freeport Flag Ladies

Freeport Flag LadiesMerriam-Webster properly defines patriotism as “love for or devotion to one’s country.” If your dictionary displayed images instead of words, you would see this photograph of The Freeport Flag Ladies in Maine for “patriotism”. EVERY Tuesday morning since 9-11-2001 no matter the weather conditions, these three ladies go to the hill on Main Street in Freeport, Maine and display our flag in honor of our troops.

These women have so much love and devotion for our country that this weekly honor is just not enough. In addition to their incredible, faithful devotion to the privilege of displaying our flag, they also meet our returning troops at the airport in Bangor as well as Peace International, and they coordinate or participate in seeing them off as they deploy.

Remembering Our Soldiers

I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to meet these ladies through my baby soldier girl when she left last year for her second tour of duty in Iraq. The Flag Ladies give our very own soldiers their last hug and prayer as they leave our country to defend freedom and they have the great privilege of giving them their first hug and prayer of gratitude as they hopefully safely return.

Many of us at Nashville Wraps® are honored to have family members serving our country in one of our military branches. This past week two of my co-workers used vacation time to meet in person “The Freeport Flag Ladies”.

The Freeport Flag Ladies need your help!

The Freeport Flag Ladies are just bigger than life and need our help. Here’s an opportunity for each of us to spend just one dollar to join these ladies in the 10th year 9-11 anniversary events. Click this link for more information on the Freeport 9-11 Anniversary Event.

I’m encouraged by these ladies and they make me “proud as punch” to be an AMERICAN!
